Lost Clue

Note to all Lost fans:

Did you notice the badge on Desmond's jumpsuit? It was some sort of swan like thing.

Logo

AND....

Did you notice on the underside of the shark there was THE SAME SYMBOL?????

***Update*** They are not identical. The shark's logo looks like:

Sharklogo

Very similar though. Why would a shark have a tatoo? Huh? Hmm?

No, there is no bun in the oven

Tada! New Oven! With all the bells and whistles! Delay bake, Smooth top, self cleaning ( not that I will ever really do that, does anyone?) all kinds digital stuff!

Oven

If you'll remember, before we had a separate wall oven ( which is still there until another day when we take it out and put in a built in wine rack, which, OMG, wont that look so sweet in that space!)  and a separate cook top. In case you have forgotten:

Beforea Beforeb

Now we just need to purchase a new black hood. I found one at Lowes, but in general, there is not a variety of hoods to select from at your local home store. So I might surf the web to see if I cant find something more appealing.

And I want to replace the cabinet door hinges with floating hinges. I hate looking at those old dark hinges. And we may repaint the cabinets. But basically the same color.

I will be very happy when the kitchen is completely and totally done. We have a strange habit of starting projects in several different rooms at the SAME TIME. ( The hall bath is still only half wallpapered....) The living room? Still needs one wall half painted. Yeah, the entire living room is painted except for half a wall. ( For the record, the whole living room should be that darker, mocha like color)

Wall

And look carefully in this picture:

Paint_1

Do you see that wall?? Jason painted 1/2 a wall in the bedroom and then we realized, the color is too light. ( here, it looks darker, but really people, you can hardly tell it was painted because it is so light.) AND THAT WAS WEEKS AGO!!!!

Pathetic isnt it?  We're busy people! There is lots to do! ( So much tv to watch!)

But hey, we are trying.

Do I get a cookie for my efforts?

Last night was my 3rd weigh in at Weight Watchers.

To recap:

Week 1- Starting Weight- 156 lbs.

Week 2-  Weight Loss of 3 lbs = 153 lbs.

I felt the secret to my first full week on WW was stopping eating when I was comfortably full instead of continuing for long periods of time for absolutely no reason. ( What a concept! ;))

Week 3- Weight Loss of 2.2 lbs = 150.8 lbs.

I am very happy with this week's weight loss considering the horrible things I ate this past weekend.

My tip of the week:

Just because you eat only the amount of points you are given a day ( for me = 22) doesnt mean you are making the right food choices. Techically, I can eat brownies etc as long as I dont go over my daily point allowance. BUT, hello? That wont get me to my goal faster. So, I find that right now, I need to eat only reasonably healthy things. ( If you are a WW person, this means I am kind of opting for the Core Plan rather than the Flex Plan because I need to focus on what and how much I eat rather than whatever I want, as long as it is in within the allotted points)

So, I have two more weigh ins  before I hit my 5 week mark. At that point I am hoping for a total weight loss of 10 lbs. I still think that is attainable. And I have already made up my mind that at the end of my intial 5 weeks, I am going to go ahead and sign up for another 6 weeks.

So this week I am going to focus on light exercise. I am going to make it my goal to walk around the neighborhood 3 times.

Aaahhh!!!

There was a monster in my bed last night......

Monster

Upon closer inspection I realized the monster actually looked rather sweet....

Later, I realized that there were not one, but two monsters in my bed....

I remember the day when Jason wouldnt let the pugs on the bed. That day has passed.

Do you hide beer in your locker?

I had never been to a college football game before this weekend.

The opportunity presented itself this weekend to go to a football game ( tickets sold out months ago due to a new coach). Now I didnt buy season tickets or individual tickets way back in the Spring because..Hello? They are expensive and I dont enjoy sitting on hard metal benches in the heat. Or loads of crazy people sitting very close to me.

So I waited. And last week my waiting paid off. My office has a BOX at the stadium and they had extra tickets for the weekend game. Mind you, the tickets werent "free" but I paid the regular ticket price to sit in the box. And boy was it worth it. And then some....

First off, we parked like a mile away ( ok, maybe a 1/2 mile) and still had to pay $10 for the space. Parking for college football games sucks. Big time.

When we stepped into the box ( me, Jason and our friend Mike) it was like nothing I had imagined. I had heard there would be some food there, but didnt expect much.

There was a HUGE buffet with barbeque, meatballs, fruit salad, pasta salad, giant cheese balls brownies cookies.... OH My.......

Since parking ( and walking 12 miles...ok, 1/2 mile) took longer than expected, we scarfed down a plate of food and then found our seat. Our SUPER nice FOLDING BACK SUPPORT CUSHY SEATS. With CUP HOLDERS.  And loads of TV's and an overhang protecting us, should the weather turn fowl. By the way, it was evening game ( THANK GOD) so the weather ending up being pretty nice.

So at half time, this guy on our row walked by with a little bag of popcorn. Guess what? ( Well, he gave me a bag cause he had like 3) The buffet food had been switched out for Hamburgers and all the fixins, hot dogs, ice cream sandwhiches and popcorn!! Isnt that awesome???

( Yes, I am a vegetarian and yes I am on Weight Watchers.... And yes... I was a bad bad girl who decided to eat her money's worth in brownies....)

So, they offered free sodas and what not in the box but we didnt see any free alcohol. However, we did see people with alcohol... But where was it coming from??

Mike followed an alcohol drinker into a LOCKER ROOM with a table displaying any drink mix you could want ( OJ, Tomato Juice, Cranberry, etc) and lots of tiny lockers with people crowding around them. People had bottles of Crown and Makers Mark ( and lots more) in these lockers and they would fill their cups up!

We were so enamoured by the alcohol in lockers ( and a little let down that we didnt have free alcohol) that I finally asked a locker attendant how you get a locker. Apparently big companies buy these lockers for mega bucks (I heard $10,000) and you can stock it with whatever beverage you choose. Sadly, my company either didnt have a locker or failed to tell me the combination.... I wonder why....................

But as luck would have it, there were some very nice people on our row that did have a locker ( and happened to be in the military too!) So, long story short, Jason and Mike downed a few free Whiskey and Cokes ( I passed, someone had to drive- and besides, I was too busy eating bags of pocorn and ice cream sandwhiches..... liquor would have taken up valuable space in my tummy)

I dont think you could get a better football experience than what we had. I dont think I will ever be able to sit in the regular seats now.

And, oh yeah. We WON!!! 45-20. Thank God.

Week in Review

I love TV.  Well, more specifically I love TV SHOWS! This week was the season or series premier for a few of my favs and soon to be favs.

Monday night-

Yes, I do watch 7th Heaven. Wanna make something of it? One day, I will buy the whole series on DVD and that wil be the only thing I will let me kids watch. ( 1/2 joking) Martin got this girl he barely even knows pregnant. I am really upset about this because A) Martin has always been a good kid B) How the hell are they going to work Martin having a baby into the show?

I also watched  Las Vegas. The've brought Lara Flynn Boyle on to the show and I think that will be make things very edgy. I already love the cattiness between her character and Vanessa Marcil's character.

Then I also REALLY like The Medium . Usually it freaks the hell out of me, but I love that kind of stuff.

Tuesday Night

I love the Gilmore Girls . I have no shame in saying that. It is a great girly show. And I love the small town feel.

I also watched the NCIS season premier during the commercial breaks.

Then I watched the House premier ( did you know that guy is actually British in real life??) and watched the Big Brother finale during the breaks.

And I finished my Tuesday night off with the season premier of Law and Order SVU. Can I just say that Christopher Meloni ( Stabler) is WAY HOT? I think he must have spent some time buffing up for this season cause he was looking mighty fine. MIGHTY fine.

Wednsday Night

Lost.... Need I say more? The best show EVA. I cant wait to see what happened to the raft people next week.

I also watched the series premier of Invasion that was on right after Lost. I may get into it, I may not. I like things to be loosly based on reality, and I am not into aliens. Or that cast. So, I probably wont watch that show actually.

Thursday Night

I watched the OC. ( Hello OC people! ) No big suprise about Jimmy getting the crap beat out of him for not paying that dude back. I was kinda suprised they didnt kill him. I cant wait to see what [7 of 9- whats her real name?) is up to with Kirsten. Is anybody else sick of Marissa? I am. Same old same old.

( and yes I did watch a bit of Survivor in during the breaks, but I usually dont get into it until later.)

Then I watched the season premier of CSI. It was ok. I expected more for a premier. Oh well.

I dont usually watch shows on friday or saturday.

And of COURSE, I plan to be glued to the TV for the premier of Desperate House Wives this Sunday. Duh.

Am I missing anything really good?

Adventures in babysitting

Last week Jason and I got to test out our parenting skills on our friends' 3 year old son. We babysat him at our house ( which is not baby friendly) for a couple hours.

Before the little guy arrived, I surveyed our living room for potential toddler hazards. Several long marshmellow skewers laying on the fireplace? Hmmm...maybe I should put those away.... Electric saw behind the couch? ( what? That's not where you keep your saw?) Butcher knife on coffee table? ( suprised me too, apparently Jason needed the knife at lunchtime and then forgot it didnt BELONG ON THE COFFEE TABLE!)

So when Noah was dropped off, to a semi-baby proofed living room ( we were valiantly hoping he would not wander into other non-babyproofed rooms) he came with a bag FULL of toys, juice boxes, snacks, diapers and a change of clothes.

For a 2 hour stay.

Hmm....diapers? Changing? I dont think so.

For the most part, Noah just wanted to play with his toys. Since we couldnt watch our tv shows like we normally would ( although if it was my 3 year old, I would probably still be okay with Every Loves Raymond because NO WAY would a 3 year old understand that stuff... so therefor it cant damage their little brains, right?) I digress, so we didnt want to "damage" this little boy since you know, he isnt ours.  So we popped in a batman cartoon movie he brought with him ( yes, if you must know, he came with 2 movies)

About an hour into our adventures in babsitting, I thought we should maybe do more with him that sit around. So we took him outside and Noah and I would wait forJason to hide and then we would go find him and run around aimlessly. ( While holding 2 toys and the DVD case for Batman because he refused to go outside without it)

Noah LOVED chasing Jason. Then Jason gave him piggy back rides. Amazingly, Jason can run pretty fast with a toddler on his back. They chased me and I feared for my life. Who wants a toddler and an adult to tackle them? Not me.

After that we treated Noah ( and our chair, despite the large towel I covered Noah and the chair with) to an orange popsicle. Thank goodness popsicle juice just wipes right off the leather.

No diaper changes. He never said anything to us about needing a diaper change. Should we have checked for ourselves? I dont think so.

The fact that a 3 year old can entertain himself with his toys cements the idea that parenthood doesnt have to mean the end of free time. Like, we dont actually have to entertain them ourselves do we? Nah. ( ok fine, at least not all the time)
